If your school, organization or business is having a community event and is interested in having Twister in attendance, he would be more than happy to be there. Whether it is an open house, a fair, or a benefit walk, Twister enjoys hanging out at all types of events.
The Worcester Tornadoes will do our best to accommodate as many appearance requests as possible. However, due to the nature of our schedule, not all requests can be accommodated.

TWISTER VISITS THE WORCESTER LIBRARY
Twister played a game of 1830’s style baseball game on the Worcester Common in conjunction with “The Big Read” in Worcester. This year, the Worcester Public Library featured The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
TWISTER VISITS ECOTARIUM
Twister and Peterman were on hand to help launch the “Cover the Bases” Program on Memorial Day weekend. The program, sponsored by the Hanover Insurance Foundation, encourages families to visit attractions in Central Massachusetts by giving them discount admissions, and making them eligible to win Tornadoes season tickets in 2010!
ST BERNADETTE MERCY CENTRE BENEFIT
Twister played in a Student vs. Teacher softball game with teachers from St. Bernadette School in Worcester. The school chose to support the Mercy Centre in Worcester. Unfortunately, Twister struck out twice!

Twister and Peterman visited Shaw’s in the Webster Square Plaza to help promote the Summer Open House- featuring the release of the Shaw’s Summer Solutions brochure that features Tornadoes coupons!
TWISTER VISITS SOUTH GRAFTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Tornadoes Pitcher Matt Weagle visited the kids at the South Grafton Elementary School to teach them about the importance of summer reading, staying healthy, and practicing good sportsmanship.
TWISTER VISITS LANCASTER CHALLENGER LEAGUE
The District 23 Challenger Little League Division in Lancaster County is designed for developmentally, physically and emotionally disabled boys and girls, ages 5-18, so that they may enjoy the benefits of Little League participation in an athletic environment structured to their abilities.
HEALTHY KIDS AT THE YMCA
On April 18th, Twister headed to the YMCA Greendale Family branch for Healthy Kids Day. The event include a fun run with the kids and a visit by Sponge Bob Squarepants! And no, Twister did not win the race.
TWISTER JOINS FINZ FOR HIS BIRTHDAY On March 28th, Tornadoes players Chris Colabello, Matt Weagle, and Alex Trezza joined Twister for Finz Birthday Party at the Worcester Sharks! The celebration included autographs with the players, birthday cake, and special appearances by Paws from the Paw Sox and even Boston Breakers soccer players!
MILFORD HOME & BUSINESS EXPO
On March 28th, Twister joined Tornadoes First Baseman Chris Colabello at Blackstone Valley Tech for the Milford Home & Business Expo. It was a homecoming for Chris, who grew up and played Legion baseball in Milford.
MARINE USA FISH EXPO
On March 21st, Twister visited Marine USA on Route 20 in Worcester for the Annual Fish Expo- featuring Edwin Evers and Gene Ellison. First Held in 2000, the Marine USA Inc. Fish Expo has become a major northeast event and continues to grow every year with attendance in the thousands!
WORCESTER ST.PATRICK'S DAY PARADE On March 15, 2009 Twister and the Worcester Tornadoes Front Office were joined by players and Tykes Club members to march in Worcester's St. Patrick's Day Parade. A special thanks to Direnzo Towing for joining the Tornadoes as well.
EASTER SEALS GREAT SCOOP-OFF
February 3rd, 2009 - Twister joined in at The Great Scoop-Off at Friendly's in Worcester to help raise money for the Easter Seals camping and youth leadership programs. Tornadoes Pitcher Shaun McNamara was also at the benefit which was part of Friendly's annual Cones for Kids campaign.
TWISTER AT NATIONAL ADOPTION DAY
On November 21st, 200 foster children in Massachusetts were adopted at eight courthouses across the state to mark the sixth annual National Adoption Day. Twister was lucky enough to join forty other families in celebrating the special day at the Worcester County Courthouse.
TWISTER AT ATTENTION FOR TOYS FOR TOTS PRESS CONFERENCE
On November 13th, the Marine Corps Reserve kicked off their Toys for Tots Donation Program with a press conference at City Hall in Worcester. Twister and Santa were both there to start the collection of toys for children in local communities. You can donate new, unwrapped toys by stopping by our Front Office at 303 Main Street in Worcester before December 19th.

On November 8th Twister Visited The Paper Store in the White City Plaza in Shrewsbury to unveil the brand new Tornadoes Prize Wheel! Every spin is a chance to win a great prize! Look for the Tornadoes Prize wheel at a location near you in 2009!
TWISTER CHEERS ON WORCESTER STATE On November 1st, Worcester State College celebrated its annual Homecoming Weekend with a football game against BridgewaterState. Twister was there for all the tailgating and pre-game festivities, although he wasn’t very good with a spatula!
LIBRARIANS LOVE TWISTER On November 1st, Twister headed to the Charlton Library for the Annual Toy & Book Sale- hosted by the Friends of the Charlton Library. All proceeds from the event benefitted the library. Twister had to be reminded to keep his voice down only twice!
TWISTER WALKS TO SCHOOL On October 29th, Twister headed to Marlborough to celebrate International Walk to School Day. The program, in partnership with MassRIDES, stresses the simple joy of walking to school, the health benefits of regular daily activity, and the need for safe places to walk and bike. Twister was joined by children from the Marlborough 4-7 School and the JaworekElementary School

TORNADOES CELEBRATE COLUMBUS DAY
On Sunday, October 12, 2008, Twister and members of the Tornadoes front office staff and their families joined in the Worcester Columbus Day Parade.
TORNADOES STEP UP!
On Sunday, September 28, 2008, members of the Tornadoes front office staff along with team mascot, “Twister,” joined 14,000 people and participated in the 10th Annual Walk to Cure Cancer. It was a cloudy and humid day but luckily the rain held off and we were able to complete the five-mile walk alongside Mary DeFeudis, who sponsored Team DeFeudis. The Tornadoes are committed to support many causes in and around Worcester and look forward to another successful walk next year!
TWISTER JOINS WHEELABRATOR TECHNOLOGIES TO CELEBRATE 20 YEARS
September 28th; Twister joined Wheelabrator Technologies in Millbury, MA at their open house and family fun day to celebrate 20 years of doing business in Millbury.

September 14th; Twister visited the Central Massachusetts Memory Walk at the Worcester Senior Center to help raise money for the Alzheimer's Association.
THE CAST OF GOOD MORNING AMERICA VISITS UNION STATION
September 14th; Twister joined some of his pals including New England Surge mascot Sergio, Assumption College mascot Pierre, and Smiley Guy from the World Smile Foundation, while welcoming Diane Sawyer and the cast of Good Morning America as they visited Union Station. Good Morning America will be broadcasting live until election day from aboard the Good Morning America train.
